• Have you gone to a contemporary format in your worship while using a sound system designed for piano and organ?
• Have you purchased expensive software and now you don’t know how to use it?
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, Karitos might have the answer. Our daily tech workshops feature highly competent professionals covering sound, Power Point, video systems and video production. Each day features four 70-minute classes and a 90-minute General Session. The General Session not only gives attendees a taste of Karitos, it also gives them a close up look at how to produce a service that incorporates contemporary worship and the arts. As a bonus, we will provide a buffet lunch both days giving people a chance to meet and talk with other tech people. By the way, The Princeton Review has twice named Wheaton College’s food service Number One among US colleges and universities.

Be a Visionary+ with Ginny Ching-Yin Lo
A class which teaches how to use images, props and movement to reinforce your vision and deepen the concept of “theme and message”. This class will encourage artists, worship leaders, youth leaders and pastors to be inventive and creative. Participants will be able to create a short piece. Some props will be provided. Sometimes known as hip-hop, this form of worship has been through the fire and is ready to be presented before the throne.

This workshop will focus on the types, history and function of Native dance as presently observed in the powwow setting. In addition, the workshop will briefly introduce the rationale and method of contextualization of Native North American dance to Christian worship.

The identification of simple dialogue phrasing within a script or score is a critical part of effectively interpreting one’s role. Carl will present a non-threatening, painless discussion of phrasing, breathing, common mispronunciations, etc. This class will help singers become better singers and drama people land roles that require singing! It will also help pastors and worship leaders work together towards recognized goals and standards of excellence for their worship departments.
Bringing the Scriptures to Life on Stage+ with Janet Peterson
Put the Scriptures, as they are written, on stage. Janet has staged large portions of the Bible including Revelation, Ephesians, Galatians (with Mike Landers), as well as a musical revue based on Psalms, and Lessons and Carols based on sacred holiday passages. In this class you’ll learn how to give voices and faces the Scriptures, fleshing them out for you audience or congregation, and reinforcing them through a living visual presentation.
