World Methodist Prayer Team Update -- September 21, 2005
Thank you for being a part of our team and for your continued prayers and support. Even as we in the Houston area are still caring for the evacuees from Hurricane Katrina, we are now facing a similar threat of our own. Hurricane Rita is headed for the Galveston/Houston area with Category 4 winds. Would you join with in prayer and worship for this situation?
"Oh Lord we thank you that many who live here dwell in the shelter of the Most High, and now rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We here on the Gulf Coast say now that you are our refuge and fortress. We trust in you. Surely you will save us from flood waters and from deadly winds. Cover us in your faithfulness and be our shield. We will not fear darkness or destruction. No matter what happens around us, we look to you and worship you. We make the Most High our storm shelter; no harm will befall us in Jesus’ name. Release angels to surround our homes and guard us in all our ways. Yes Lord, let them lift us up high. We do believe we will trample on the forces of destruction and evil plans for us. Because we love you, you said you would rescue us and protect us in your great Name. We praise and thank you that as we call you answer. We worship you because you are with us in this trouble. How precious it is Lord that you will deliver us and honor us. You have satisfied us with a long life and have clearly shown us your salvation. Amen.”
Worship the Lord on our behalf by singing a hymn or chorus that lifts up the name of Jesus. All Hail the Power of Jesus Name!
Thank you,
Terry Teykl
